General Document Requirements

• ✓ Completed online Germany Schengen visa application form.
• ✓ Valid passport with at least 2 blank pages and at least 3 months validity after the planned Schengen stay.
• ✓ Valid UK residence permit or proof of legal UK residence.
• ✓ Two recent passport-size photographs on a light background.
• ✓ Proof of accommodation covering the full stay in Germany.
• ✓ Travel medical insurance with minimum EUR 30,000 coverage valid in Germany and all Schengen states.
• ✓ Proof of transport, such as flight reservation, train ticket, driving licence or vehicle registration details.
• ✓ Return ticket reservation or onward travel evidence.
• ✓ Travel itinerary and cover letter explaining the purpose of visit.
• ✓ Proof of income or sufficient personal funds, such as recent bank statements.

Specific Document Requirements

• Employed applicants: employer letter, leave approval and recent personal bank statements.
• Self-employed applicants: business registration or licence, company bank statements and evidence of business activity.
• Students: enrolment letter, student card and NOC from university or college.
• Retired applicants: pension statement or proof of regular retirement income.
• Business visitors: invitation letter from the company in Germany, employer confirmation and business bank statements.
• Medical visitors: medical confirmation from hospital/doctor in Germany, appointment details and proof of paid medical fees where applicable.
• Cultural, sports, religious or film crew applicants: invitation letter, event details, crew list and itinerary.
• Official delegations: official invitation, purpose of visit, accommodation details and proof of identity.
• Training, research, study or internship: enrolment/acceptance certificate and proof of financial support.
• Minor applicants: birth certificate, parent/guardian consent, parents’ passports and proof of parents’ income.
• Transit applicants: visa or entry permit for the final destination country where required.
